The soundtrack, both the sound effects and the music, are dark, dank, scary, and just right. They are also loaded with mystery and tension, which is something Resident Evil has been lacking for two sequels. Not because they are action-packed or exciting, but because they are atmospheric and scary. There is more scene setting, which is good, but also a little more fake/real jump scares, which is not so good. The game is a step away from what most Resident Evil fans expect, which means less B-movie content, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Capcom have not added a massive degree of maturity into the game, even though they promised they would, but they have taken a few style tips from the much beloved (and terrifying) Silent Hill 2, and that is a step in the right direction. You are an average Joe just trying to survive. You are not part of the military or any sort of police official, and you have no training. You are far more vulnerable in this game. The game returns to its roots in some respects by lowering the action, heightening the suspense, making the enemy more dangerous, and leaving you with fewer supplies. A host of new adversaries inhabiting the village will relentlessly hunt Ethan and hinder his every move as he attempts to make sense of the new nightmare he finds himself in.Silent Hill 2 Has Had an Impact On the Designĭespite the franchise's brief foray into other genres, Resident Evil 7 returns to the core idea brought out in the first game, which is survival horror. Familiar Faces and New Foes – Chris Redfield has typically been a hero in the Resident Evil series, but his appearance in Resident Evil Village seemingly shrouds him in sinister motives.

First-Person Action – Players will assume the role of Ethan Winters and experience every up-close battle and terrifying pursuit through a first-person perspective.Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Experience survival horror like never before in the eighth major installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise – Resident Evil Village.
